T 8 Matte adhesive is pliable and will move with your actor's face. It is non-flammable, non-toxic and safer than spiritgums and other gum-based, flammable adhesives. This adhesive has been manufactured forprofessional use and there is a learning curve. To be effective, Telesis 8 Matte adhesive mustbe used with a Telesis Thinner, preferably Telesis 8 Thinner. Telesis 8 Matte Lace Adhesive is the ideal adhesive for laying hair goods. The matting agents are mixed intrinsically during the manufacturing process which ensures a fluid consistency so the adhesive never gets hard or cracks - it dries matte and stays matted.
Telesis 8 Matte Silicone adhesive is also referred to as Telesis 8 Matte Lace Adhesive to indicate that it is used for laying hair goods.
To start, vigorously shake the bottle of T 8 Matte adhesive for several minutes before using. Make sure that the ball baring in the bottle can be seen and heard, and that the matting agents are not settled on the bottom of the bottle but evenly dispersed in the adhesive immediately before using.
Take two cc cups and mark them accordingly to prevent any mix up between the adhesive and thinner. Pour a small amount of adhesive into a cc cup and then pour a small amount of Telesis 8 Thinner into the other cc cup. Dip your brush into the thinner and skim off any excess on the side of the container. Dip your brush directly into the cc cup of T 8 Matte lace adhesive and apply it to the skin. Brush the adhesive on quickly and lay the lace on top immediately. You do not have to touch it or tap it to get it tacky or matted. The adhesive dries quickly so you will need to work fast. Once the adhesive is dry it will not turn white or yellow and it will be pliable enough to move with your actor's face. (Remember: If you do not dip your brush into the thinner prior to applying the adhesive, the T 8 Matte adhesive will be too thick to apply effectively).
If you apply too much adhesive and it builds up on the lace, or if you need to do any touch ups, dip your brush into the thinner and it will tap right out. Once the adhesive dries in the cc cup and gets hard, it will not longer be usable so pour it sparingly prior to your application.
